Training Schedule:
Monday - Friday
6:00AM-2:30PM Upon completion of training, you will transition to the regular swing shift schedule
Job Description
The Swing Shift Supervisor is a key leadership position within the Cashmere Manufacturing Facility. This role is responsible for leading the shift to meet expectations in safety, quality, production volume, efficiency, training, and overall team performance.
The Shift Supervisor is expected to have a strong and active presence on the production floor, actively coaching team members, supporting Leads, solving problems including fixing machinery, and helping drive a strong and accountable production team with minimal oversight.
The shift supervisor is responsible for allocating work via MiTek Production software in order to maximize shop efficiency and meet the schedule to best serve our customers.
This position reports directly to the Production Manager and works hands on with all team members to support daily production goals and long-term company success.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Safety
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment. This includes leading by example, reinforcing safe work practices, supporting housekeeping standards, completing safety inspections, and coaching team members on safety throughout the shift.
Safety leadership, injury prevention, housekeeping, and overall safety awareness will be key measures of success.
Quality
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for helping ensure quality standards are met across the shift. This includes monitoring workmanship, supporting Leads, identifying quality concerns, and coaching team members on proper processes and best practices.
Productivity
The Shift Supervisor is responsible meeting production output and efficiency goals. This includes supporting production flow, removing barriers, training team members, and working with Leads to improve performance.
The Shift Supervisor is expected to take a hands-on, lead by example approach to driving productivity while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Leadership
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for setting the tone for the shift. This includes work ethic communication, accountability, attitude, attendance, coaching, problem-solving, and participation in company initiatives.
This role requires a leader who is consistent, fair, engaged, and committed to developing the team.
Qualifications
The Shift Supervisor must have a strong understanding of the Louws Truss Production System and the ability to lead in a manufacturing environment.
This position requires:
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Knowledge of truss manufacturing processes
• Previous supervisor experience in manufacturing
• The ability to coach, train, and support team members
• The ability to manage pressure, priorities, and changing demands
• A commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and teamwork
• Ability to operate forklift and other production equipment (or willingness to become certified)
• Excellent attendance and reliability record
• Basic computer skills
• Basic mechanical skills
• Knowledge of safety regulations & OSHA requirements
• Full participation in required Louws Truss University courses and supervisor training
