Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) is recruiting six-month AmeriCorps members across the state! This is your chance to gain hands-on experience in the environmental field; come build trail, plant native trees and shrubs, and complete restoration projects all while earning a regular paycheck plus a scholarship for education.

Develop your résumé: Restoration planting projects, backcountry and urban trails, in-stream projects, and invasive species removal are just a few of the hands-on experiences you could gain as a WCC AmeriCorps member. We'll provide excellent on-the-job skills training, in addition to career-transferable, formal training conferences in a variety of environmental topics such as Wilderness Advanced First Aid. WCC members have the opportunity to deploy on national or local disaster response, as well.

Gain college credits: Earn transferable college credits through a new partnership with Walla Walla Community College! Six months or more with Washington Conservation Corps qualifies as Cooperative Work Experience (internship) credits through WWCC, or complete a WWCC class through our training program.

• CREW-WENATCHEE/WENATCHEE DNR: Join a crew that completes some of the most diverse and arduous projects in the program! This crew serves Department of Natural Resources on projects in Okanogan County with the possibility of traveling all over Washington. Project examples include lots of exclusionary fencing in remote and steep terrain, invasive weed removal, planting, trail maintenance, forest health thinning, and brush cutting.

Requirements and Benefits - Must be 18-25 years old, with limited exceptions made for recently returned military veterans*. Members earn WA state minimum wage hourly in this full-time position and receive an AmeriCorps Education Award of $2,960 (scholarship) upon successful completion of six-month position (900 hours). Educational loan forbearance and sick leave are available.
