So many trucks like this come up for sale that have been in a farm field or yard for years, no title, maybe no engine for top dollar.
This on isn't like that. I've had this truck for20 years with the mind set of preservation instead of really restoring or customizing it and using it as a reliable daily driver. Right now the truck needs nothing and every thing works but there are all kinds of things you could do to it or restore it or not.
To list some of the details; The dash has the original radio delete plate, these were usually thrown away when someone over the years put in a radio and it hasn't been hacked up with a Sawzall.
The seat has the original fabric which is torn on the drivers side, but the padding is there and no springs sticking up. I've sat on a towel all these years.
It has the factory size tires that have the correct old school look with no unusual wear or cracks, the hubcaps are from a 50s chevy car but look good and period correct.
It has a heavy duty trailer hitch with a seven pin connecter for electric breaks and a charge wire all set if you have a camper. It also has a light duty front trailer hitch which can come in handy for tricky maneuvering.
The 292 engine does not leak or use oil between changes and runs great, it has the Pertronix ignition.
I just had the flywheel out and sent it out to be machined with a new clutch disk, It's silk smooth when you let the pedal out.
The transmission is a 4speed that works as it should.
The exhaust is a custom hand built pie cut TIG welded system with a chambered muffler which sounds way better than a glass pac, and the tailpipe runs out where it did originally from the factory.
The battery box has zero rust.
The bed wood is bad but I have a complete bed from another truck which has the super cool high mount spare tire fender, my thinking on that was to rebuild that bed and just switch them out so there is no down time.
I have another drivers side fender with no rust or dents to be changed out, I have the drivers side cowl cover that's painted, there is some rust on the cab corner and the threshold but not bad, also have a extra hood with no rust or dents, two front grills, nice windshield and a set of doors.
The floor has a small hole by the dimmer switch but solid everywhere else, original rubber floor mat.
It has the 1964 license plates so there is no yearly reregistration.
Most of the small stuff has been replaced over the year shocks, brakes, rubber brake lines, fuel tank, that list is long.
This is such a cool truck for general house and garden work or a Sunday backroads ride.
