I have this ice maker that I need to sell. This item is great to have. It has a water release valve underneath it. It works great. When I bought the item I thought it was self cleaning but it's not. It has some staining inside. You would have to find something that could remove the staining in the bottom of it. I am afraid of putting chemicals or even soap in it just to clean it because I am afraid that it would make the ice taste weird or strange. You may find something that you feel, comfortable using. It now is just taking up room on my counter top.
